We put together these clips from the video of the World Premiere of The Drummer Boy of Waterloo staged in Aldeburgh by Jubilee Opera in November 2015. It was actually filmed for archive purposes, however we hope that we’ve managed to captured some of the magic that was created on stage in this short promo.

Ok ...have a good laugh. You may be forgiven if you don’t recognise the person on the skateboard.....but yes it’s me...in my  Children’s Television Presenting days. I should say my skateboarding skills have much improved since then.  Actually, I was sent the clip from a friend of mine who had seen it on Twitter and it just reminded me, it’s always been difficult to avoid your past.

Possibly judging songs for Eurovision is not everyone’s idea of a good time. But for me, I love it.

Yes I am that person who watches the whole Competition from start to finish armed with a piece of paper and a score sheet in my hand making notes.

It’s amazing to hear the music in central London in December when you go into the underground or out to do the Christmas shopping ...it’s a real treat.  So I’m reminding everyone to go out with a pocket full of change to share amongst the many buskers.

I’ve just re-surfaced after a week of intense nervous excitement from rehearsals in Aldeburgh that led up to the first night of  ‘The Drummer Boy of Waterloo’ our opera that premiered at Jubilee Hall last weekend. That is the same hall that Benjamin Britten premiered his work..... so no pressure then.
